Professor Les Barclay was Deputy Director at the Radiocommunications
Agency, responsible for research and radio technology.
He is now a consultant in radio regulation, spectrum
management and radio propagation, and is a visiting
professor at the universities of Bradford, Lancaster
and Surrey. He has been chairman of the study group
on radiowave propagation within the International Telecommunication
Union and chairman of the Scientific Committee on Telecommunications
within the International Union of Radio Science. He
is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and
is currently a member of the Electronics and Communications
Divisional Board of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
He has been awarded the OBE and the Polar Medal.
