Following the publication of the report by the Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones a research programme, called the Link Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research Programme (MTHR), has been set up to look into the possible health impact of Mobile Telecommunications.

The Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research (MTHR) Programme has today announced that work has started on a new study to investigate whether the use of mobile phones is linked to long-term health effects such as brain cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

New Chair of the Programme Mangement Committee
On Friday 25th January Professor Lawrie Challis retired as Chairman of the MTHR Programme Management Committee and was succeeded by David Coggon OBE, Professor of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Southampton University.
